P or D? There are No DDO eyelids listed, how about undet the L in Liberty like this?

For what it's worth, my first thought was that it resembles a lamination flaw.

Negative on the L & it's a P.
Is it possible the area in question had been re- engraved ? it's sharp, well defined with edges, when the rest is so worn out.
Are those lines in the field abrasion marks from polishing? They are raised on the coin.
