I think I just nabbed my first near date SBA. Got it at work from a vending machine. Looks right to me. Can someone confirm?

Near date, yes. The one to look for is the Philly Mint one if I'm not mistaken. Looking for one my self.

A regular 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollar with a "Narrow Rim" will have the rim of the coin separated from the date of the coin. A 1979 "Wide Rim" variety or the scarcer variety from 1979-P Susan B. Anthony dollars, will have the date of the coin very close to the rim of the coin, and almost touching.

Nice find. I've found maybe half dozen from roll searching but to find one in a vending machine is awesome, especially a vending machine that gives dollars as change!

Some parking garages give coin dollars for change. So use your $20 bills there.

It's a Philly. I get change from this machine regularly. I always check and it finally paid off.

Still looking for a Cheerios $1.

All,

As a newbie to this forum as well as the world of coins, I am amazed at the art form of the beauty of imperfection. Staying true to this SBA topic, I too would humbly ask all of those numismatic pros out here to provide their thoughts related to the coin I stumbled on.

Thanks in advance
Dave
