Can anyone tell if this is wide or Close AM, and what the die errors are? I read that all 1995 D & P are supposed to be Close AM. Thanks, just learning...
Not sure exactly what has happened, stretched plating because of damage perhaps, but it is a Close AM, the M isn't centered between the A and E as a Wide AM reverse die is. Just damaged, is not an error.
Thanks so much! I wasn't sure since there seemed to be quite a bit of space between the A & M. Do you think there is any value for this type of coin? ...cud and mangled edge, weak strike on the reverse, etc?
I agree it is a normal Close AM coin. The value is a maximum of $0.01 in that unfortunate condition.
The left leg of the M looks like the die may have been polished or worn down in that area and created a wider separation between the letters on the coin. The A in STATES and FG both definitely say that it is a Close AM.
Keep searching!
