@minblast, first welcome to CCF. Second, are you really sticking that coin into an orange? 'cuz that is what it looks like.

Looks like the dies may have been slightly mis-aligned during striking and some extra metal smushed over onto the reeded edge. Nice find. Just make sure to rinse it off before storing in a 2x2.

Thanks Spence for the quick reply. My hands too dirty after car repair. So I decided to put coin in the orange to looks picture nicely. )))) The coin worth anything or I can spend it?

I do metal detecting. So far I didn`t sell any coins. I have many hammered and only one gold. But I like to keep it. I`m just interested about the price of 10p mint error. May no reason to keep it?

Yeah just joshing with you about the orange, although the residue might degrade the finish over time.

I'm not sure on value. It doesn't seem like there is as much interest in mint errors in Europe as in the US or Canada. I'm sure once some folks wake up in a few hours you'll get some replies from those who know this market better than I do.

Yes its slightly miss struck.
Not much interest for errors here although seem to be a lot of decimal collectors now.
Maybe £10/£15 to the right person but would be suprised if anymore.
I would just keep it but if you sell it good luck.
