So I always have been a coin collector, but mainly for old/rare things. Previously I had found my father's (small) coin collection, which I found some nice things. That's another story. I was walking into his closet, looking for some more old collections of coins( and electrical junk for my projects). I saw 4 boxes. I disregarded them and moved on. It's a long story... but I found that the boxes were heavy, probably about 8-9 kilos each. I opened them...

You've left out some pertinent facts. First of all, assume that your dad is no longer with us? If he is, you shouldn't be rifling through his closet. Do you have siblings? If so, and your dad has passed on, they should be aware of your finds as well. What is in the box? I assume it's Canadian silver, and probably a fair amount if it weighs almost 10 pounds. Nice socks.

There are some clues on the box....
Quantity: 300
Weight: 1.5 ounce
Purity 99.99%
Metal: Argent (Silver)
Diameter: 38 mm
I am not that familiar with Canadian silver coins, but this sounds like they might be 1.5 ounce silver coins.
300 of them would be 450 ounces of silver. That would be 14 kilos.

My guess is that these are part of the $8 dollar silver coinsissued by the Mint starting in 2013 depecting the Canadian Wildlife. They are 99.99 silver, 1.5 tr oz, 38.1 mm in diameter and 4.5 mm thick. the bullion coins were issued in plastic tube. The proof in clam style case Over $$30 a piece at silver current price.

So here's the story. My father allowed me to look through his closet, which you might think is weird, but it isn't. He says I can keep any electrical junk and old coin collections I find in there. I inquired him about the coin boxes. He says it was from someone who borrowed money a while ago and needed to pay it back. This person had become successful in bitcoin... Anyways, he said he might open it if all 300 coins would sell more than the whole box. I told him that he should wait a few years. He did let me keep an automatic toilet flusher that I am using for an electric scooter conversion and I am fine with that :)
