What are your takes on collecting Silver Pandas from China? Some dates are a very good return, if you bought them when they came out or found a good price for one. I'm not typically one to invest in such premium coinage, yet am curious as to what some of the more veteran collectors or stackers would say.

This probably isn't in the correct forum, anyone able to direct me to the correct one would be greatly appreciated. My apologies, this is one of my first posts.

I collect Pandas, but not really into the investment end.

ebay is flooded with slab Panda coins and over inflated prices on this series, don't count on getting a return anytime soon if you want to invest in these coins.

Thank you very much for your reply, and I'm in this as a long term retirement investment. I'm 28, and have been collecting and stacking silver seriously for the last three years. I'm currently in hoarding mode, and will be looking to cash out sometime in the next thirty years or so. Or if silver hits a new all time high.

There's lots of fake Panda out in the wild.

I'd take the necessary precaution in making sure they are genuine before buying, only get it from trusted sources. The old saying is true, if its too good to be true, and you know the rest!

I guess it's a bit late in the game. The newer Pandas struck after 2010s are unlikely to rise in premium quickly due to high mintage. If you are going to get one, make sure it's direct from one of the official distributors. But at the same time, with the Chinese population at 1+ billion...

The older pandas have appreciated significantly due to their lower mintage regardless of what metal / size they are in, silver, gold, palladium, platinum.

Again, fakes do exist for literally everything and Panda coins are no exception.
