Went to the LCS today to pick up a few supplies. I decided to spend a little time in the world coin bulk bin. I don't really collect world coins with any focus, just pick up what looks interesting. They sell them 8 for a dollar.

I found a couple of older coins and was excited to get them. They are common coins but interesting. Still looking for a Vicky!

My favorite weekly rite. I've commented before here that on the whole, at least in my area, anything with a British monarch on it seems to go directly into the "bargain" bin, Victoria included (and occasionally even William IV & George III).

I'm not sure your photos represent very well the true hue of this duo. On the cent, I'd wonder if that little bit of white residue isn't from a long ago application of metal polish. The 1912 2 heller had an exceptionally high mintage (almost 76 million). But both exhibit a high degree of extant design detail, and are excellent finds at the price you mentioned.

You're right, LuckyCuss. I am struggling to illuminate the coins under my new camera. They are actually brighter than they appear. Still trying new angles, etc.

I thought they looked to be in pretty decent shape for their age. Thank you for your comments.

Those are both great pickups for that price.

With what I've learned here on CCF and elsewhere, I could spend days going through world bulk bins.

Nice finds. I found one of those hellers while I was CRH Lincoln Cents. Really neat looking coin. Ironically I believe mine is a 1912 as well.

I always like to have a look-see in the bin while I'm at a shop or show. Lotta fun.

Sounds like you got yours a little cheaper! Based on the mintage that LuckyCuss mentioned, I'm not surprised if yours is the same date.
