Hello,
I have aquired a 1989 Canadian Maple Leaf Silver 5 Dollar coin with a fingerprint. It is still in the original RCM packaging. I am new to coin collecting and am wondering whether this decreases or increases its value.

Pictures of this coin can be found on the following website:

It decreases the value. Collectors hate fingerprints.

That being said, it is bullion and will always retain it's metal value.

I would send it back in a heartbeat, They need to see stuff like that. send it back, get a new one.
OR run a fingerprint scan and find out who did it... you know what to do after this..
