Has PCGS ever opined on any variety before with a letter w/o slabbing it? Has PCGS ever taken a photo of a coin if the coin did not cross?

This scenario would just be an opinion and I do not know how much weight it would even have if ANACS actually saw the results before doing their check?

I think, however, that sending it back to ANACS to do a variety check might be the way to go but I would want to feel very confident that there's a strong possibility of getting that WB-104 designation.

The ROI without getting that WB-104 would really not be worth it considering two TPGs, freight & insurance etc.

And another thing, ANACS is now a different company and they have disowned the earlier holders, so even if it regraded as cleaned they still don't owe you anything.

variety attribution fee should probably have been refunded

PCGS said that because I left the 'min. grade crossover' column entry blank, their assigned grade did not meet the EF-45 I put under the 'grade' column. Therefore, they did not bother doing the variety attribution and did not charge me for that additional variety service level fee.

All of these charges and classifications/descriptions in this above paragraph are found in boxes 9 and 10 on the submission form.

But when I asked them what grade they assigned my coin, they refused to give me their own assigned grade. I then asked them why they wouldn't tell me the grade they determined in order to be able to make the decision to disallow the crossover. They had no explanation other than to tell me, "That's just the way it is." Is this normal business as usual for all TPGs?

Just for the record, even though it's only $ 5 they also incorrectly charged me for the 'secure service fee' that will be refunded since it did not cross...

Compared to the first couple of photos uploaded in 2018, I'm sending you these just to show the true surface of a mostly uniformly toned/colored patina on both sides. The lighter colored reverse postions at 1, 3 and 6 o'clock just exhibit harsher cleaning

PCGS just told me that this coin did not have any varieties. I called them today and asked if they would reconsider the grade even though they knocked down the varieties.

They told me to send these new photos to determine the next possible step: prepaid shipping label, same grade or something lower etc...
