I hope folks find this interesting and can offer their thoughts. I chickened out on buying these today on ebay UK, especially after a message from the seller saying they got them in a lot at an 'auction' and didn't know anything about them.
What do you think? Real or fake? Why? And your grade, for fun.
Sorry about the poor pics but that was all that was available.
They sold for £165.

What markers do you guys see in the coins? I can only see the surface texture which seems consistent with casting, however I don't see anything particularly off in the details. I don't collect the series so I'm unfamiliar with them but what other indicators are there?

The dates in the 50c pieces are a good giveaway.
And they seem to have been struck at an angle; but that might just be how the photo was taken?

You are right Johnny,, the angle of the dates is off, and I don't think it is just the picture angle. Must admit I didn't notice this.
Thanks to all for the input but the whole thing is kind of scary, yes?

What's scarier than these fakes, which are pretty obviously fake to those who have seen many, are the ones that fool TPGs. Not just Canadian material like we've seen with ICCS, but U.S. colonials, Half Cents, large cents, and Seated Liberty halves that have ended up in PCGS and NGC holders.

IMO The dimes look real the leaves have the correct breaks and the obv. is obv. 1 date has the correct fonts. Not familiar with the 50 cents so no opinion.

@doubleeagle59 How do you figure that the dimes are fake?

The "I"'s on the obverse are a good marker for the dimes. Notice the bottoms are bigger. Made by HK Replica coins. China.

If anyone doesn't know who "nickelsguy" is in the post above mine here, you shouldn't be buying silver or NCLT on the internet. Take what he says to the bank.
