I was looking through this site on Australian penny varieties, comparing the diagnostics to coins I've found in shows here in California.
I noticed 3 coins, the 1921, 1922, and 1924 have the Calcutta obverse.
According to the link I cited above, that means the 1921 was struck in Melbourne/Perth (common), the 1922 Perth, and the 1924 in Sydney.
Apparently for 1924, "probably fewer than 3% of coins were minted with that die". Wow, then I'm pretty amazed I ran across this coin!

I think I've provided enough resolution to see the diagnostics for the Calcutta obverse, despite the reflections from being shot through holders.

1921 Melbourne/Perth:

1922 Perth (pretty banged up, isn't it?)

1924 Sydney:

Thanks Nancy! Apparently, I simply stumbled upon the 1924; the '22 I found only when I learned about the Calcutta variety.
Btw, your State Quarters and those Lincolns are on their way.

Kurt, the 1921 calcutta obverse is the common one, look for the London obverse, it's the rarer one.
Quick list of the rarer ones to look for, all pennies.
1915, 5 leans left.
1919 double dot,
1920 London obverse, with and without the mintmarks/ dots,
1921 London obverse,
1922 Calcutta obverse,
1924 Calcutta obverse,
1927 Calcutta obverse,
1931 Calcutta obverse, and Calcutta obverse dropped 1, extremely rare.
1942 No I Indian obverse,
1943 Indian Obverse, long denticles,
1953 different 5
1955 wide 5 [ Perth Mint]
1956 Melbourne obverse, Perth reverse, not a mule, nice coin to have.
1957 Perth wide date 7,
and one of my favourites the 1962 doublenose penny, not actually part of the above list, just one of my favourites at the moment..
Some of the 1920 can be difficult to obtain.

That was just a quick list off the top of my head, before the morning coffee, I am still chasing a couple of these myself.
I think I have some pics available, however Triton's page is where I started from.
It's a starting point. There are a few in the 20's and 22, wide dates, tilted 2 etc, and the 1952 tilted 2, not mentioned above.
One step at a time, the most difficult I found to find was the Calcutta obverse, normal 1 and the 1915 tilted 5, and some of the 1920's.
Pics are very good s usual.
Happy hunting.
