I am trying to find some information about a coin I have in my possession: a 1938 Canadian penny. It is in good condition, except that the obverse is blank. There is no indentation to even suggest that it was stamped. I can not find anything about it so far. Thanks in advance. -Seabee

Nice find. Either completely worn away or was never stamped, I'm saying the later

My guess is it was filed away by someone. A close-up pic would help.

Damaged. No rim upset, design too full on reverse. Was sanded smooth by that Cannuck garage imp.

Agree with Crazyb0 (who still spells Canuck with two "N's")
Can't be an error, only shows rim on one side.

I'll bet it weighs substantially less than 3.24 grams.

That would be a good indication it is PMD.

you should weigh your coin. make sure it is not a plantet split. I have a couple of pennies from different years. that are split plantets. they look like your coin.your penny should weigh 3.24 grams .

the weight is something you should determine anyways but I don't believe that this is a 'split planchet' Seabee. this is a ground down coin in my opinion.

below are 3 examples of split planchets (with uniface) and all 3 weigh around half of the spec weight for a penny. in all 3 examples you can see the rim even though they are distinct in their overall appearances.
