I'm a big fan of this issue of contemporary counterfeits & I've been a sucker for lamination defects lately.
While lamination's (and just plain poor quality in general) are common in the bouquet series of the same time period I can't say I've ever seen a corrected date with one.
I'm pleased to have added this to my modest collection.

Wade,

A terrific ensample of what is affectionally known as a 'Snot Nose.'
This nickname is derived from the conspicuous Die-Chip below the Nose.
This variety is identified by Breton as 871, Charlton NS-3D1, and Courteau 282 NS.

And being a 'contemporary counterfeit' the standard of workmanship is subpar to normal strikings and requires grading with this understanding.
The Dots comprising the Rosette are clearly defined and the Dots within the Leaves are crisp and sharp.

This should grade AU 55; and perhaps even higher.

Beautiful Token.

Doug

1832 over 1882
1832 over 1882, besides the version with die chip under nose, there is also the early die version sans die chip
