So I am 0-2 so far. Here's another recent purchase from the bay. My only real concerns are the "oily" colors.

Any help is appreciated!

and more photos, just in case you were wondering about the corrosion-looking spot on the reverse, to the right of the "E" in "ONE" (the inverted Scanned photo shows it best). I can't really see anything under the loupe. If it wasn't for the inverted photo I wouldn't have seen that spot at all.

Looks like it went through our Columbia Mall Car Wash and got the "Executive", rinse, wax and buff...Not seen circulation if any, but it has been worked on, hairlines are showing in some pix (reflected light) and slight dings from som handling.

I like the details on the coin and I love seeing that"L" stick out like a sore thumb.
The oily surface your worried about could be vaseline, I have heard of people using it to shine up copper pennies for resale. Not sure if it hurts the coin in any way or not.

Somebody may be around soon to answer that question,

i see corrosion where you pointed out and to the left of the shield. surfaces look lusterless.

Seems like an okay coin, but I certainly wouldn't pay unc. money for it.

Surfaces are devoid of luster. I wouldn't pay MS money for it.

Thank you everyone,
I purchased this coin primarily as a learning experience, it looked good enough in the photos to pay AU $$, I was going to send this one in to PCGS just to hear what they have to say about it. Whether it comes back AU CLEANED or not is what I am paying to find out. If the coin wasn't so pretty (lack of surface dings, scratches) then I wouldn't even bother. When I get the coin back from PCGS, I'll reply with the grade/details it gets.

p.s. Yes I am aware that I may be flushing $20 but it's more fun than $20 at the casino :)
