I've only seen these previously on crown sized coins and am not all that familiar with this particular counterstamp. Would really appreciate some feedback, thanks.

They are actually most frequently seen on the peninsular minors (1/2, 1, 2R)... typically shield type, some portrait as here also. You don't see the 1/2R all that much.

A LOT of phony stamps out there... Not my expertise, but this looks OK. Pretty nice "look" to it, with the later date (less worn) host.

Thanks realeswatcher. I was not aware that this c/s had been used on minor denominations until seeing this one.

Looks good to me, but with that low-resolution picture one can not be absolutely sure.

Apologies that my photos are not of good quality. Using an iphone and close up pictures always end up a little grainy :(
