how much nicer that aluminum '74 looks than Zincolns.

Not only true, it would probably be cheaper to produce too!

Cheaper, but still not less than one cent.

Even if material was somehow free, the cent still costs more than a cent to make.

I would like to sell this coin. how or who do I contact or talk to. Pleae let me know ASAP. Thank you

Send it to PCGS or another third party grading company. After they have authenticated and graded it, contact a major auction company like Heritage Auctions.

As far as I know, it is illegal to own a 1974-D Aluminum cent, so if it is real, it would most likely be confiscated.

Let us know how it turns out!

The coin you have pictured is definitely not a 1974-D Aluminum cent.

Can't resist observing how much nicer that aluminum '74 looks than Zincolns.

But an aluminum cent would weigh nothing. Imagine having a few in your pocket--you'd never know they were there.

Interesting.

Maybe if we made the dollar coins out of aluminum then all of the "heavy pockets" peeps will finally stop complaining.

I have a round Lucite paperweight ( inherited from my grandfather) with 5 1974 aluminum cents embedded in it. I just KNOW they aren't plated fakes at all, they just must be real, right?
