1808 Capped Bust 50c - Overton 102 - Rarity 5 (31-80 Believed To Exist)

I was surprised to run into this coin and I thought I would never see one again so I scooped it. This CBHD is a Rarity 5 Overton 102 (O-102) variety that is estimated to have 31-80 surviving examples. The 1808 CBHD is not rare with over 1.4 million struck, but this variety is considered rare.

Thoughts on grade and problems as always appreciated. Thanks!

The 1808 Overton 102 has a unique reverse motto T-I alignment at T+4. Fortunately, there is only one variety that has the T+4 alignment which is this variety. This diagnostic alone verifies the die pair attribution for this coin, but there is another.

The second diagnostic is that there are crosslines inside the lettering in "LIBERTY." This diagnostic was inconclusive in this coin because it has worn down too much.

The third diagnostic that is unique to this 1808 CBHD is that the reverse has a raised dot at the shoulder of the eagle, adjacent to the shield as per the coin image below.

Remarkably nice surfaces for the level of wear, it should go G04. The PCGS Trueview piece at AG3 is not close to as nice as this one. Nice buy.

The O-102a is a variety of the 1808 CBHD that is Rarity 2, 500-1000 known. The O-102s is characterized by having a lot of die cracks. The page that describes the difference between the early state O-102 and late state O-102a is here: http://www.maibockaddict.com/1808-o...dollar.shtml

This page indicates that the finest known O-102 is an XF-40 sold by Heritage at CSNS Chicago in 2016. Apparently the information on this page is a little outdated as PCGS appears to have certified an xf45 example:
