Here's one I had been on hunt for a long time trying to find a nice EF / AU coin, with the help from a fellow collector from this forum that had an extra. It was a nice high grade but was full of gung and had that dirty feel to it like it was in the dirt for a while or got hot in a fire it was really dark looking.

I soaked it in virgin olive oil for 36 hours but every 8 hours I took it out rinsed it off good and went to work with a Hawthorn quill getting the crud and crust off it anyway it turned out pretty good compared to what it looked like before there's still stains where the crud was thick and hard but looks 100% better.

Looks pretty darn good... do you have a "before" photo to show us how good your restoration efforts were?

Hey DEVLEC happy to see you posting I like that 9 leaf as well but I was after the DP9 more so it needed some TLC looks better now to me.

Here's another one I played with yesterday not a 1859 but a 1916 that looked pretty hurting so I soaked it in virgin olive oil from 8:00 pm - 12:00 pm today (12 HRS) and I spent an hour with Hawthorn quill and cotton cloth removing all the grud from it.

Here's before and after picture's what do you think?
