Ms63 and very nice. Looks like a surface scratch from the ear down the middle of the neck. Another smaller one on the bridge of the nose. The feathering on the eagle looks proof-like. One other concern is that the obverse stars look like they are surrounded by dark edge toning. Hope that is toning and not some dark grime. I like the look of the coin.

It will make cameo I should think. I don't think the light field rub will nab it into a details notch.

63, but I'm uncertain as to MS or PF. It looks more like a PF because of the rim, so that would be my FINAL guess - 63 PF Cameo.

The toning that numismatic student mentioned indicates to me that the obverse was cleaned at some point in the past and has retoned, with the areas that were not reached by the cleaning turning darker (around the stars). I love the reverse, and had it not been cleaned I think this is a solid MS-64 coin, but sadly I have to say MS Details. NGC probably gave it a straight grade though.

The 64s have it. Straight grade and a suttle scratch let slide. Oh well.

I think the scratch kept it out of the 65-66 range. Looks nice and accurately graded.
