Chrisild: Christian, thats the one mate! There is a PDF version? Hmmm, I wonder if anyone knows of anyone else who can provide me with a 'sample' copy? That would be quite cool to have page through that (even tho the Third Reich section is slim!) :) The new one sounds interesting, however I just dont have €100 to spend on it - that said, I did just spend €85 on books from Germany this week. Its an expensive habit! :)

wwhitmann: If I may, what was the email you managed to contact Krause on? The one's I have tried time and again get me nowhere! After the response you got, which seems quite excellent, I'm suspecting I'm contacting the wrong person at Krause/Numismaster...

Danke :)

This should work as a sample.

Zaggy,
I'm at work now and the address is at home - I'd ask my wife but that would be a painful experience to try to walk her through the procedure. I will get it tonight and send it to you.
As I remember I got it out of my Krause -

chrisild,
THANX for the link.
It looks like a great reference package!
But I am an idiot - Can't read German!
I did see something about the Hamburg 20Mark.
It seemed to reference the 1905-1912 date area.
Can you translate?

The text about the 1905-1912 issues is the footnote that I mentioned before: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...31171#253204
"In den Jahren 1905-1912 wurden in Hamburg offiziell keine 20-Mark-Stücke vom Wappentyp geprägt, sondern mit dem Porträt von Wilhelm II. von Preussen (mt 132.142/3). Andere Jahreszahlen existieren, weil Privataufträge."
That is, In the years 1905-1912 the Hamburg mint did not officially mint any 20 mark coins with the Hamburg crest, but Prussian coins with the portrait of Wilhelm II. Other years exist due to private orders. Guess that the "mt" number refers to an article in moneytrend magazine ...

Just a quick update, wwhitman; tried Krause AGAIN with the email address you gave me, over two weeks ago now... Yet again they have ignored me! I guess they don't like researchers! hahaha

As for your 20M; have you tried contacting any of the better known German expertise? Paproth, Franquinet, etc?

Zaggy,
I don't remember how long it took for them to reply, but I think it was closer to a month. I do think they may be on vacation at this time. In their e-mail, he indicated that during the summer is when he takes trips to Europe (lucky him). I'm sure that they will respond!

As for the 20M - I think it was a private order as per ChrisLd link. Not sure what that means?
I will check out the names you have given. I am still hoping for that trip to Aruba to watch the turtle races!
