themaineway Valued Member United States 92 Posts	Posted 02/23/2018 1:18 pm will a PMD (acid - coke etc) eaten down cent sound different? and might this be such? what I first noticed about my change was the sound of the coin, just like you can notice a canadian cent in change this one was about the same kind of sound..very "tinny". the coin weighs 2.47 gr even with what it has (?) on its surfaces both obv and rev coin is thin overall compared to normal and the diam seems to be just slightly less. I can hear a silver coin three cash registers away and no I dont have a problem asking for it although I probably would have been embarrassed had I had to ask for this one. good thing it was already handed to me in my change lol Report this Post to the Staff

If dipped into acid, a bit less or if something is on the coin (like if it was found outdoors) Or it could be normal.
