1940-S Nickel - Planchet Error? - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/24/2018 8:47 pm Or even a bad mix. The coin is 75% copper and 25% nickel. So there maybe something else affecting this coin. There might be a contaminate on the coin? Note how where it should have worn off, it didn't or it has been in storage so long it is toning. Tough call from the images provided.
