looks like an end of the roll coin, and it received all the oxidation from the air, nothing to be alarmed about, although it looks like someone may have tried to scratch of some of the tarnish that was there..

Original rolls always have a dark coin on the outer edges, but this outer coin has been pecked at..

Yes odd to have one side so darkly toned compared to the other, but I agree with @moxking that it is only worth BV.

It looks like it was in a Whitman-type cardboard folder for some time. The reverse is terminally toned (or tarnished). Is the edge black as well?
