Adding to my slowly growing collection of Bactrian coins is this AR drachm of Antimachus II Nikephoros (the Victorious)
Antimachos ruled from 174-165 BC Obverse legend in Greek: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΝΙΚΗΦΟΡΟΥ ΑΝΤΙΜΑΧΟΥ Reverse legend in Kharoshti, Maharadajasa Jayadharasa Amtimakasa Control mark indicates it was struck at the Taxila workshop. 17mm x 2.29g x 12h Whitehead 557. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimachus_II
I've always liked how the engravers drilled out the extreme points of each letter and then linked them with simple lines to produce this distinctive style of legend.
very nice Greek style with the Nike ,as symbol of his nickname Nikephoros : the Bringer of Victory .I don t know if he really had victories ? The monogram is : H Y , if I read well . congrats . albert
