Hello.

I'm not an expert on ancient coins, but from what I learnt in this forum, yours seems to be fake.

It looks too round and "too new". When compared to your reference, the details are just wrong.

The horse and the rider lack details (just smooth), and the temple looks different. Take a closer look, it's not that hard to spot them.

Last but not least, the realized price on your reference shows 50000 CHF (swiss francs), which is roughly 50000 USD.

Usually, if something is worth a lot of money, many fakes will flood the market.

@DH, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @guybrush that your coin looks fake. Other than looking at missing details on the design elements, have you tried measuring the diameter and mass to see if they match the original?

dali_hendaoui: to the CCF !

Sorry, this one is a tourist fake, the style is obviously wrong, to the eye of an experienced collector of Roman coins.

I agree a fake. The style, an overall looks makes it easy to spot a not a genuine coin.

How to tell a fake?
A compilation of all the unofficial personal ideas the CCF Panel of Experts should give an indication.
Make your own judgement after that. Hopefully, that judgement will be a bit more educated.

It must be remembered that:-
They are their ideas, not the official position of the CCF.
That is why a compilation may be useful.

I am a different sort of ex spurt:-
ex = an old 'has been',
spurt = a 'drip' under pressure.
Rest in Peace

To be able to judge the fake, you must know the original well. Those who study the original in hand and by design( picture or diagram) know those correct time/place details, design and script. To just say it "looks fake", isn't all that's needed so do a lot of people, are they?. Gotta get to know them. It might be better to keep ones pie hole shut if you don't know. One factor that coin is a copy is that that perfect form of script on machining wasn't perfect like that until the 1500's.
