Looks like this..reference wildwinds..

Julia Mamaea AE Sestertius. IVLIA MAMAEA AVGVSTA Diademed & draped bust right / FELICITAS PVBLICA S-C, Felicity standing half-left, arm on column, holding caduceus. Cohen 21.RIC#676

Maybe crop out the background so people can see whats happening with the green colouration behind the portrait..

Could be Bronze Disease, right? It looks like there are already pits in the metal on both sides of this coin.

Yes, the surface pattern is very strange... Actually my grand-mother found this coin by chance 80 years ago, or so, near an excavation, in Beauvais, France...

Thanks for your replies. Do you have any idea of its value? These "pits" lower very much the value, I suppose

The coin was in high grade, but it was over-cleaned (leading to the granular surface) and the bronze disease has dealt significant damage; it is probably not worth more than a few dollars now. Once treated and the degradation halted, it would still make a fine addition to your collection.

The coin has active bronze disease that needs to be treated before more damage is caused to the coin. This might help. http://www.classicalcoins.com/bronze_disease.html

Man I'm glad I read this post, I remember a coin (one of my first ones) having green on it. I'm going to pull it out and check it when I get home.

I'll post it so we can diagnose it.
