Found this in a roll of 1921 morgans- I'm not familiar with the vocabulary, but is this what is called a Broadstruck error?

Whatever happened left "waves" on the both the face and tail sides of the coin.

Any thoughts?

Looks like it's had a tough life, maybe including surviving a fire. The waves look like the coin got very hot at some point, suggesting either a botched AT attempt or it being in a fire at some point.

That looks like someone etched it with acid. Whatever it is, that is PMD.

I can see why you'd ask because it has been damaged at the edge. But I do not think it was struck out of collar.

Like others posted, it has seen some heat damage. I see some black spots that make me think the whole coin got burnt and then mostly cleaned.

Great comments. Thank you I see what you mean. I better take a closer look at the rest of the roll. All the coins looked great.

Agree with PMD heat damage, most severe at K10 on obverse rim.
