So I know when a bill gets wrote on it pretty much destroys it. I was just wondering your guys opinion on if this bill has any hope at all.

Besides of the obvious "27" written in blue ink on the left side of the bill, it's in rather immaculate condition. There are two small smudges on the front center bottom border. Theres a small slight slight slight indented counting mark (?) on the top near the right side, not noticeable without close inspection. And finally there is one more small smudge on the back top center border.

Other than that 27... I'd say it would be in atleast the UNC condition (in my very unprofessional opinion, based on what I've read).

Thoughts?

I moved your post to the Canadian Note grading section for the proper attention.

Forgot to mention: The bill is as crisp and firm as it could possibly be. No folds or creases whatsoever. The colour is actually much more vibrant than this picture shows. I'm fairly sure it's got its full original colour.

Yes, I hate that when you come across a nice bill and, an ink mark is on it...
Shame but it will be noted on the holder if you send it in for grading.

Not worth the grading cost. Damaged goods.

AU for me, with a DAMAGED designation. Worth $10 as is, with out the 27 it may have brought $27 ironically.

Thoughts? Off the top of my head- I'd say its a nice note (despite the graffiti).

The #27 is not considered "damage" by most TPG (as far as I know). Instead, they would consider the ink an "impairment."

As " TheBurnz" rightly eludes to - it cannot be UNC (uncirculated) since it has been circulated enough to have had the # written on it. However, it has got great looking (sharp) edges, corners (well centred) and I'm sure the tint/colour is nice.

It is impossible for us to tell whether its original (in that it hasn't been pressed) but if that is the case (i.e. its original) then it could be AU (Almost Uncirculated) which is a lot nicer than the copious number of dull 1954 pressed notes I've seen.

So, bottom line, if you like it- keep it (& yes $25 would be the approximate BV without the impairment- but you never know- you could find a buyer who's okay with that/ preferred grafitti over wrinkles/pressed notes).
