Hi guys! I am interested to find out from the members here who has Or have had a ASE for a pocket piece, how long does it take to wear down when kept separate in a pocket and is handled everyday? I have done it for a week now and no visible scratches are seen I don't handle it reckless I play with it in my hands, flip it, spin it etc I am just curious Hope to have some replies Thank you! I had a 2013 that I carried on and off for about 3 or so years. Almost always with other change, keys, etc. The very first day it went into the pocket in 2014 it started showing dings, owing to the soft 999 silver fineness. It easily took on nice circulation wear, but the dings and scratches just multiplied also. I stopped carrying it last summer and it is now in a 2x2 in my safe deposit box. I'll take some pictures of it next time I get to the bank. I now carry a 1921 Morgan and sometimes also a 1967 Canada goose dollar.

I would forget about the ASE and pick yourself up from a dealers junk box a nice worn WLH . Use that as your pocket piece .

I can see how an ASE would be harder to lose, but a junk WLH would have only melt value (plus a slight premium), inherently less than an ASE. And why would a worn ASE have increased value?

I can see that, thank you -- didn't occur to me and would require some time/effort to reach lowball status. But I still don't see how an ASE would be cheaper than a junk Walker or how the value of a junk Walker could get any lower.

Thanks to everyone that replied, I will still be using the ASE as it was a gift from someone who asked me to use it as a pocket piece
