I'm skeptical on that being a clash mark

Just wondering - Lincoln's head is a void on the obverse die, how did the reverse die get "into" that void to mark it? Wouldn't the dies surfaces coming together stop that from happening?

It is on the neck. That area is part of the fields. You've seen where die polishing removed the neck lines. The higher devices are deeper into the die.
