Is a 98' nickel with full steps worth getting graded?

It may be if it actually is FS and it is high grade.

Is it a P or D mintmark?

Pics would be nice.

Pics would help, but the truth is that most "modern issues" are not really worth the cost of having graded, unless they are truly rare/exceptional and could garner an absolutely top rating.
I'm doing a Jefferson collection myself, but stopping at 1984 as a cut-off, as the populations just get so huge and there aren't really any "rare coins" at all in the moderns..
That said, if you like the moderns, collect what you enjoy!
