Cool it with the close ups - and show us a full picture of the coin first! That's the only way we can help you with your questions, so many people on here try to dazzle us with close ups and there is no way to tell what part of the coin it is!!

Tried 4 times to crop just the coin on the rim 10-6 9-3 and it still says file to large even though it says it is 176. Getting angry a little. Its off center too and just wont upload

to the forum!

It looks like Cud to me. The missing letters are due to the missing piece of die from the opposite side.
I think the double date is an illusion. I just don't see it.

A Cud is broken part of the die that involved the rim. The picture shows the rim is still there so thinking resin or glue?

I think the issue is corrosion, something added to the coin. Perhaps an acetone bath would make any foreign matter dissolve.

It maybe a reverse Cud. Note how the obverse is showing weakness on the motto area?

Here's how I download pics from my android: take photo, leave it in photos on PC android etc. (2). Attempt to load photo in CCF advanced post reply or new post. (3) window pops up saying photo too large, click on big green icon and attempt to reload your pic. Image optimize says its too big, put in 900 and leave sharpness at 0. Give optimize about 20-30 seconds and it will flash. (4). Hit apply and wait 30 seconds, it will blink, hit save all and wait 20 seconds, you will see a green arrow next to your coin, hit the arrow and wait 20 seconds. (5). Close out of image optimize and go back to your post, hit "load image" window asks from where? Photos, images, or downloads? Select downloads (the pic you fiddled and hit the green arrow on with will be in your download folder). (6). Wait 20-30 seconds and window says "congrats image loaded".
This is only a work around for android and phone users, PC's are a little different.
Hope this helps, good luck.

DO you have 'Paint' program on your computer. You can also cut, and size there before you send them to the site here.

This is a real Cud, not a piece of crud on the coin. On the obverse, you can see the missing details from the void in the die.

Thanks for all the inputs and comments regarding this coin.... After staring at this coin through 25x I did notice something else. On the obverse I have counted 1983 4 times.... Please blow up my picture of the date and pay more attention to the rising pattern of the date 1983. North east direction. If you look at the black mark above the date it seems to be a 9. Look around it and you will see 1983. Then below, is another 1983 and 1 more below that one. Then comes the actual date. Let's see if you can see them all as well as I do.

10X is only what collectors will buy. Over that is over kill. Why? Because it would be too minor to be listed. @25X nothing looks like something.
