Yes, it would still be considered a Woody since it's significant enough. Very nice coin as well.

That is one crazy looking cent, Chase. I love it. I would call that a woody since the striations are clearly there. Be sure to show us some more pics when you get hold of it!

You guys know more about this stuff than I do, but it doesn't look like any woody I've seen.

Looks like a woody was put into a blender and then restruck.

Quote: C'mon David - your avatar got to be better than an 84 Doubled ear -LOL! I was originally going to do this picture right here, but the picture size was too large and even if it got resized and cropped down, it would be too small as a profile picture. So I picked this one (the one on the left). When I find a better coin, I'll update my profile picture again. But for now, this is still one my favorite finds of all time.

Back when I was chasing the early/mid 1920's DDO-001s I saw quite a number of coins like that. Seems like a nice improper alloy/woody kind of thing. But I wasn't too enthusiastic over that look (I like the ones that look like wood grain) and so didn't pull them. Kinda a bummer or I could have sent you a dozen of them had I tossed them in my woody roll.

It's definitely a woody. Could you please explain why it's PMD?

PMD = Post-Mint-Damaged Preferred: PSD = Post-Strike-Damaged What is the difference? Coins can be damaged in the mint, so the term PMD is not considering this damage. Often thought of as after it was released when from the mint. But as I mentioned, they can be damaged before being released. So I prefer PSD: meaning the coin was damaged after the strike, but is just damaged no matter where it happened.
