I was thinking of buying this last night, but the price got away from me a little bit, and didn't pull the trigger. The winning price was very reasonable. Kind if regretting it the day after. Thoughts on grade and problems? Thanks!

Your title say 1797 cent, but the picture is an 1803.
Is that the coin. Looks to be VF30, but the color is unnatural.

Sorry. Posted the wrong coin. This is the 1803 and will post the 1797 shortly.

Right face outline, mouth, and nostril almost certainly retooled.

Also, this appears to be the large date large fraction variety which is pretty rare. Can anyone confirm this variety? Thanks

It looks like the S-257 variety to me. I think maybe it is actually a small date, large fraction ... the short enumerator line is the key in my opinion.

Small date (3 does not encroach upon bust line) / large fraction

My EAC grade is 20/10 due to obverse and reverse scratches and obverse light porosity/corrosion. A TPG would probably throw a VF Details holder on it. It's not unattractive, if you can get past the scratches.
