The title of this post is named after a BBC TV show about paintings where the hosts try to determine whether the painting are really by the artists or not.
There have been a number of India 200 Rupees and India 50 Rupees posted on
ebay with wet trap printing errors.
2 Different sellers but both are from the same region in India. I believe that they are both the same person. I have purchased 3 of these notes and am trying to figure out if the error is real or not.
The first one arrived yesterday.
1. The note is a real uncirculated India 200 Rupees. I can feel the raised Ink. The UV luminescence is all there.
2. I line up the transferred ink error portion with another note and the position of all of the ink transfer matches exactly.
3. There are 3 different colour ink transferred. The security device green, the brown of the face, and black from the lettering.
4. I cannot make out any ink jet dots.
5. The other 200 Rupees (which has not arrived yet but based on the
ebay pictures) has exactly the same number of shift point on the face. This is suspect.
6. Missing H with the micro printed 200. Looks it is the same ink plate as the Hindi R200 and the Reserve Bank of India text so why did this not get transferred. The Serial Numbers are a different ink they are UV so they were printed on at a different time.
Fake or Fortune give me your opinions.
