Very nice reference Albert. I usually use Krause for my 19th and 20th Century coins, but it is always nice to have a different perspective.

Could have used this recently when doing Belgium coin additions to my world coin album.
My only criticism is the use of Belgique in the titles for both of the north and south region coins.

You are correct Albert; very interesting to me!

I'm 100% Belgian (both my Mother's and Father's parents came across on the boat in the early 1900's), and recently began picking up Belgian coins whenever I see them 'pop-up' on ebay. I don't know a thing about them at this time but I think using the reference you supplied I might learn at least a little in the near future.

I have saved the site you've provided to my 'favorites'

BTW: My son just moved to Belgium late last fall and will be there another year and a half (work related). He's already found over a dozen relatives of ours, deceased however, at a few graveyards in the east side (my Mom's side of the family) and west side (my Dad's side of the family) of the country.

atticguy , a little bit late , but I just saw it now .I suppose your Mom's side of the family is originating from Wallonia , and your Dad's side from the Flandres ? I am living in Antwerp and in a small village on the Luxemburgian border near to Houffalize-Bastogne, one week here,the other there. If you mail me the family names and the places of birth , I can maybe find some more information on internet , because ,I think, it is difficult for your son to understand the Dutch (west side) and the French (east side ).albert

Albert;
I'll be in Belgium most of December and the first week or so of 2020, somewhere in Peer. Won't have lots of travel time while there because my retiring son is shipping his car back to the US a week after I get there.
I will be visiting my Mom's side of the family the first week though.
Don't plan on doing any coin collecting other than trying to acquire a large variety of Euros while I'm there.
Thanks again for your prior postings!
