This coin is from the same set as the half dollar in the other post. All the toning , and none of the spotting like the Franklin- plus a much better cameo . Do you think it warrants a DCam ...UCam..UDCam...whichever you prefer ? Do you think the toning detracts from the grade on this one ? Does the toning give it more eye appeal ? I guess the toning is tough to see against the black mirror fields in the pictures ...you'll have to imagine rim toning from brown to red to blue (got that ?) Good luck ! Thanks for your opinions !

I don't dare venture a grade, but that is one BEAUTIFUL coin!! When Hadley sees that he will fall in love. The cameo just accentuates that deep blue. What I see, and they may be photo remnants: Something in the middle of the neck Something just into the hair at the farthest right portion of forehead. A dot above the "bun?" of his hair A dot at the top left of the eagles chest. Four things, four grades = PF66 DCAM.. Again, I could be way off, and these things may not count against the grade per say. My guess is I am very careful with this grade. Of course I haven't referenced the price guides either, and PF68 and up may not be big money, sao your grade could easily go up based on that alone......

After re-examining this coin, all spots mentioned by Tights24 must be lint or photo remnants- I cannot see them on the actual coin. Thanks for your opinion Tights24 ! My Greysheet does not list grades above PF-65 for this one, and the Bluesheet only lists up to PF-67 -and only until 1953. I will have to look at some prices realized at auctions to find its approximate value.

I just took a peak over on Teletrade. They have a PF65 UCAM NGC with rainbow toning that went over $200. A PF68 UCAM with no rainbow for $380.
Various pricing, and base pricing of $50-$60 for PF67 CAM.
When looking at the pricing a little more closely, it seems that UCAM/DCAM have a huge affect on pricing, and so does the toning. This isn't rainbow toning to me, but it IS toning that accentuates the coins beauty. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like PF67 UCAM out of NGC. Not sure if they give "stars" on proof coins....My guess is you could be looking at a $200-$300 coin easy, and maybe even more.

Thanks Tights24, I would not call it rainbow toning either- but it does look pretty good ! It's nice to know it might be worth more than I paid for it, but selling it is not really part of the plan at this point This one will probably go to ANACS next time I get ten or so coins for grading, then I'll see if my proof grading is at least close. I use ANACS cause they are cheap ! Glad You like it Hadleydog, I have been acquiring quite a few nicely toned coins lately , I posted a few in the main forum earlier this week- I hope you got to see those , there are some real nice ones !

Wow! I like it. I don't know the grade, but it's a deep cameo in my book.
