So I recently bought an 1830 Capped Bust and in trying to ID the variety I'm just confused. It clearly has a recut upright 5 as clearly pictured in Peterson (pg 203, O-103/117 reverse). It also clearly has a recut LIBERTY, especially IBER (Peterson, pg 207, O-111 & 112 obverse). The I-T alignment is as described by Overton (I centered under right side of T, O-111, in Parsley pg 554). Star 13 is close to curl (pg 554). I'm thinking it is an O-111 but I see nothing about the upright 5 being recut in either book on an O-111. Is this just an anomalous O-111 that happens to have a recut upright 5?
