Class VI DDOs don't excite me much, but this one's just been a royal pain in the neck for me to find, even though it is common.* It isn't exactly the Mona Lisa (good grief, it isn't even a velvet Elvis), but it checks the box on the checklist. Here are the date and mm: . . . and the thickness on the motto: . . . and on Liberty: It has the tell-tale Stage C marker, the die crack that moseys down the left wheat stalk: *(I just couldn't resist sneaking royals and commoners into the same sentence.)

I see doubling on the 1 and that is it, but the rest might just be a thick die. It most likely isn't a very good die, but to be fair. I have only been collecting for 3 years.

It's hard to tell because it is so worn. However, the doubling looks right, the mintmark location is right, and the die crack is right. So, I think you have DDO-002.

Thanks Tanman2001 and ItsDaBunnyYT! It's always a challenge to translate marker pics for MS 65 coins into what we see in the wild.
I appreciate the feedback!

Here is a fresher die for this die on coppercoins. 1937S-1DO-002 Quote:
MDS markers Obverse A small but heavy die gouge shows on the back of the head under GOD. Mine has the die gouge, but I don't have an image of it. Variety Vista (CONECA) 1937-S DDO-004 is the same die with the die chip as the 002 of coppercoins. CONECA 1937-S DDO-002: http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20...7SDDO002.htm

IIRC, the coppercoins numbering for this date doesn't match the Variety Vista numbering. I think VV DDO-002 = cc 1-DO-004 and VV DD-004 = cc 1-DO-002. I (think) I matched the target coin to the Variety Vista listing.
The left wheat stalk die crack is what sold me on the DDO-002 (VV numbering).
Am I right on this? or am I confuzzled?
It's times like this I wish we had one standard numbering scheme, but that won't happen.
Thanks everyone for your time and feedback. BTW, stoneman227, your photos are awesome. I wish you and coop would do a tutorial on how to get pics that great. My equipment is quite a bit more primitive.
Thanks again!

A lot of the images I get from different locations. When I see how they will work in a discussion, I add them.
