I would be happy about "Buffalos" and sad about "Without Dates".

Ok... I'll stop the suspense... And it gets better... some of the coins actually had dates... and amongst the coins was a 1913 Type 1... some are mintmarked.

In summary, here's what has been found so far: 1913 T1, 1918 (3), 1920 (2), 1923 (3), 1925, 1926, 1927-S, 1929 (2) 58 dateless P-mint Buffalo nickels2 dateless D-mint Buffalo nickels4 dateless S-mint Buffalo nickels1941 Jefferson nickelAll of the dateless Buffalo nickels are now busy "pickling." Am hoping one of the mintmarked coins is a nice, scarce or rare early date. Fingers crossed! I will update as dates are revealed.

Well John77 for me personally, I would be thrilled to of found those even if a majority of them were dateless. Good coins to hand out to grandchildren and or other kids in your neighborhood. You never know, it could be the start of a a youngster getting involved in the hobby. Mark,

I won some Buffalo nickels at an online auction: one roll dateless, one roll full date (their claim). I already have the ND roll and plan to try them out in self-checkout lines. I will search dates/mm on the other roll, and probably use them as change buying meals or non-self-checkout lines. The ND roll was actually a dollar or two more than the FD roll.

The word "dateless" doesn't scare me on Buffalo rolls anymore as I've been extremely successful at pickling them (only 3 fails in almost 100 coins). Amongst my best pickled, formerly dateless finds are a 1914-D and a 1921-S.

I am going back there first thing in the morning tomorrow, before heading off to another neighboring city for dumping and picking up... FYI, it's my 4th 1913 T-1 I've found... It's the next to last coin in the 6th row of the big picture.

I see it! That's spectacular to get these from a bank. I will be looking forward to the date results on the others.
