Notice the date and the mint mark are showing the same thing? The mint mark punch this year was used after the die was created. So if the Mint mark and the Date are showing the same doubling, then it is Machine Doubling. Another clue? The date devices are normal sized, but reduced with the Machine Doubling. So it is the dreaded Machine Doubling that altered your coin after it was struck. On a DDO that year, the devices would have been enlarged.

But note as the mint mark and date on your coin is reduced. Not a variety.

I learned that way with yes and no answers. It take 10X longer to figure out what you are doing wrong. Having a lot of images also helps point out the answer quicker also. Feel free and copy them for you personal library. Denominations/varieties/errors/terms/ETC the better you organize this information, the easier it to find when you need it.
