Notice the date and the mint mark are showing the same thing? The mint mark punch this year was used after the die was created. So if the Mint mark and the Date are showing the same doubling, then it is Machine Doubling. Another clue? The date devices are normal sized, but reduced with the Machine Doubling. So it is the dreaded Machine Doubling that altered your coin after it was struck. On a DDO that year, the devices would have been enlarged.

But note as the mint mark and date on your coin is reduced. Not a variety.

I learned that way with yes and no answers. It take 10X longer to figure out what you are doing wrong. So I like to let everyone see what I see on a coin. that way when I'm not here, others can share what I shared with them in the past. Having a lot of images also helps point out the answer quicker also. Feel free and copy them for you personal library. You can download the images with a right click on your mouse and put them in your image fills or host, or you can copy information by high lighting it and sometimes the images will come along for the ride. I have over 100 word pages of information I've collected. But that is a hug file. It is best to break down the information on files to certain subjects. Denominations/varieties/errors/terms/ETC the better you organize this information, the easier it to find when you need it.
