Earlier this year and late last year.
I started picking up (collecting) $200 coins

This I did because everyone was ignoring them.

Most of them I purchased for under $150

then a while ago someone on the forum mentioned that these were being sold on ebay cheap.

Now that the rest of you have found what I had already found, I am leaving the field open to you because the price is now beyond face value.

Yes they are worth what they are going for - but now that I am having to compete against so many of my forum friends- I am not willing to pay what we as a forum have caused the market to do.

I have my little lovelys tucked away so if the rest of you stop bidding - I just might start again- but I wanted you all to see how much a single post on this forum can do to influence market price of coins.

So you're pretty much buying 200 dollars for 150... Ok.... I guess that works out for you lol...... But I actually don't bid on them..

Could someone explain to me why these coins would sell for less than face?
Of course, you're reminding people again to check ebay

Kurt if I could figure that out I would be a wise man. Dealers were buying these below face and simply cashing them in at the bank. Seems as if non-collectors don't realise that ALL of our coins are worth at least face, regardless of metal content.

all of the coins I purchased except one were from sellers in the USA who did not realize the value of the coins.

Up until about 2 months ago when the price started rising, I was able to obtain 7 of these at less than $160 each

but really they are worth more than face value and that is the nice part

I am amazed at what an impact our forum can have on coin prices worldwide

We just have to be careful of what we discuss
