Greetings to everyone from a new member Deep in the Heart of Texas! I'm a new member but started my collection many years ago.
I have a wide collecting interest related to United States numismatic items--and the history behind them. I gravitate to the odd and unusual items. Coins, Varieties, Errors, VAMs, Currency, Star Notes, National Bank Notes, Obsoletes, and 19th-Century Postal Money Orders.
I like hearing the stories behind the reasons each of us became interested in numismatics!
One of my early exciting finds as a child occurred when helping my father remodel a house in the 1970's and some "Old Money" was found in a cupboard I was tasked to remove. Only one coin. Not worth much, but it still holds a place in my collection. 1889 Nickel. Full Liberty.
What item or event sparked your interest?
I will be looking forward to participating in many future topics!
