It was caused by an Over Polished Die from trying to get rid of a Die Clash. This is what happens, the letters get thin, since they're using abrasives on the die face (very rough on the dies).

Very Strong die polish. It removed the fields so much that the letters are now thinner as the deeper the devices are in the die, the thinner the device becomes. The devices are tapered so the coin doesn't still to the die.

Thanks everyone! Crazyb0, where do I need to zoom in for detection of the possible die clash?
