I probably ought to apologize in advance for posting utterly common later bronzes like this, but it was rather unusual for me to find two such together with such similar "Gloria Exercitus" reverses but for the different mint markings. They were also pretty cheap and I thought retained a good deal more design detail than that I typically see in examples from this era.

The one on the left I believe to be RIC VII 112 (Sear 17336) from Heraclea, and the other I have pegged as RIC VII 236 (Sear 17334) from Siscia.

No need to ever apologize. When I hear LRB my ears perk up.

Two very nice coins.

very nice indeed.

Interesting to me how different the faces of the two soldiers are in the Heraclea coin... the left is much more lifelike than the right.

You didn't specify, but the coin on the right is Constantine I, not II. The two standards type was only issued during Constantine's sole reign; the reform that introduced the one standard type happened during the final years of his life, although I have not read any convincing guide on how to differentiate between father and son on those issues.

All I can say in my defense is that the catalog reference I gave above was found among the issues identified as being those of Constantine II, and my specimen seems to be a pretty solid match to it.

By chance I've come across another that appears to be a Constantine II with a "Gloria Exercitis" reverse depicting two standards.

I think the above is RIC VII 328 (Rome mint).
