Hello!

I am really new to coin collecting and going through my change I discovered this unusual stamp or marks on a 2017 dime, obverse. It almost looks like a series of vertical D's near Roosevelts chin or jaw. I'm wondering if it could have been a mint error or after the mint?

Thank you!

PMD. Probably from the rim of another coin hitting it.

@lisar, first welcome to CCF. Second, this damage on Roosevelt's cheek comes from contact with the ridges on the edge of another coin. It looks kinda neat, but does not add to the numismatic value of this coin and is not a mint error. Safe to spend!

Great thanks!
ah! I see now. Its the grooves from the edge of another coin!
Even though its not worth more than its current value its really fun learning these things. I appreciate it everyone and hopefully will find some interesting things in the near future!
