Metro Coin and Banknote in Toronto. Read the thread a few days ago for coin shops in Toronto or So Ontario.
Here is an excerpt from the thread about Jared: Metro Coin and Banknote was one of the best shops I've ever been to. Jared was able to help me find modest notes for my budget but still in nice condition. He is clearly very knowledgeable and reasonable with his prices. I was able to add many older circulation notes to my type set and learn more about the series as well. He was very helpful and made a great deal for me! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Toronto! Great selection and prices for all budget

Keep in mind, these bills are soon to be demonetized. Low grade $1000 bills will likely become worth less than their face values, imo

Quote: Low grade $1000 bills will likely become worth less than their face values, imo $1000 notes will never become worth less than their face value because you can always return them to the Bank of Canada for their face value of $1000 when they are demonetized. Of course, if you get an $1000 for $1000 today, the value of it will decline as time goes by because of inflation.

so if they demonetize it that will have no effect on the value of these note.

And there is always the cost of your time and tracked shipping if you don't live near a place that will accept the bill. But, if enough are destroyed, maybe they will come back with some kind of increase in value.

Even if you lived right next door, the bank of Canada doesn't deal with Joe Nobody off the street. I know my lcs won't buy them at face value.

Anyway the 1935 and 37 1000 note and the devils face 1000 note will always be collectible note and will keep their value. The demonetized will perhaps affect the bird serie note and the modified portrait 1954 but for all other 1000 note the value will stay or goes up.

..to CCf Audetnelson.. Just a suggestion, if your going to spend that amount on a note, I would suggest you pick up either a 1935 $10 or $20 dollar note in VF condition, probably be worth more in the long run.

the 10 and the 20 is better investment than the 50 or 100 in the 1935 serie ? a store in my city have a devils face 1000 note for sale and my first idea was to buy that note.
