I came accross a Lincoln Memorial cent, I can't recall the exact year but I'm sure it was from the 60s (sorry, it's late and I don't want to wake anyone up getting it out)...It has a rather obvious crack diagonally accross Lincoln's shoulder area to about the halfway point and then the crack continues in a hairline manner the rest of the way. This is on both sides of the coin. I'd photograph it but don't know how to use the darn digital camera yet and have already found out coins don't scan well lol. I *could* figure out how to link you to the scan but it's blurry from enlarging, ohwell at least the coin wasn't hurt.

I'm sorry I can't do the pic thing and I know it's harder without a picture...was just curious if the description sounded like a cracked die or more like circulation damage.

Hi ChiMel1592

Welcome to the forum !!!

What you describe sounds like a die crack !! normally they dont appear in the same place on both sides of the coin as it is unusual for both dies to crack at the same time in the same place.

I would like to see your coin !!! maybe its a good time to learn the camera ?

Thanks for your participation !!

Unfortunately there's no telling what you have for sure without being able to see it.
