If those are depressions in the surface, I would guess those are pits left after corrosion was cleaned from this IHC. Something may have been resting on this coin for years, causing a corrosive reaction. Die breaks on IHCs are usually finer, raised lines that connect the date, legends and denticles in many possible combinations. Very seldom do they cross the portrait, since that's a deeply recessed area on the die. I'm probably stating the obvious here!
More then likely a coin that was in the ground for quite some time then cleaned a bit. The lines are from something that it was resting on at the time. Tis the only thing I can think of at the moment
I agree that corrosion was removed from the coin. The lines may have been caused by a trowel striking against it while it was being removed from the soil by a metal detector enthusiast.
