@newbie, I think that those are ears (as opposed to die chips, for example).

Thanks Spence. The areas in question aren't part of the original design. I think they are die chips (bottom 2) and top 1 a die crack.

Ok hmm, maybe you could add an arrow to the area in question? Clearly, I'm looking in the wrong spot.

Ok yes between the head of the bison and the letter E, there should be a smooth line of the bison's head. On all three of your coins, I see something that disrupts this. The first one does look like perhaps initial stages of a die crack while the other two look more like die chips. I see "two horned bison mint errors" on sale for big bucks, but not sure if anyone is actually buying them for those prices.

Quote: Where did you see these for sale? Looks like I can't post a direct link to that web page, but it is called CTF Error Coins. I should point out that I don't anything about that coin seller other than he has a pic of a coin that looks something like yours.

Coop, you can't post those PCGS 10-12 MB images here. I got a dozen emails, they lock up peoples mobile. Most people on any kind of mobile can't even load the topic.

Ok, I'll stop. I didn't know it was a problem. I'll have to edit the images to show the areas better. They will still be 1240 pix wide, but only open to 800 unless you click on them.

They seem to be "pre-RIDB" of an RIDB listed at Cuds on coins, I could be wrong.
